MIT personnel who participate in, or oversee activities that are regulated because of potential risks to the environment, health, or safety must receive training appropriate to the regulated activity. Instructions on how training is determined is listed below.
Getting started with EHS training requirements on MIT Atlas Learning Center (for Lab Members, Lab UROPs, and Others to take the EHS Training Needs) – Learner Quick Guide
See your EHS Rep about your lab’s training requirements
Every fall and spring, various MIT academic subjects have environment, health and safety training requirements associated with them. At the beginning of each term when it becomes available, the EHS management system gets a feed of subject registration information. If you are registered in a subject with an EHS training requirement, this requirement will display on your Atlas Learning Center – My Training Needs page. Contact EHS for a list of academic subjects that have required EHS training.
If you don’t see it listed on your Training Needs page, please email us at environment@mit.edu. Since there can be a week or so delay before the academy provides us with its enrollment list, we can help troubleshoot the issue.
Training Group Members
Taking training for Training Groups
See your Supervisor about your EHS Training requirements and whether you need to be added to a training group.
Lincoln Laboratory employees should contact the Lincoln Lab Computer and Communication Technology (CCT) help desk at 781-981-4357.
To access the institute’s training system, web certificates are required. Obtain or validate your certificates at IST Certificates. If you are on-campus, you must connect to the MIT Secure wireless network. If connecting to an encrypted wireless network (such as “MIT SECURE”) is not possible, IS&T recommends using the MIT Remote Access VPN to ensure your data remains secure and private.
Contact your Principal Investigator/Supervisor, your EHS Representative, or the EHS Coordinator for your Department, Lab or Center (DLC).
